Using a good quality face cream or moisturizer is so important... Especially for those of us who are over 30 (or over 50 in my case!)

When It Comes To Men's Faces...

Do you think you have an advantage over women?

Technically yes! Your facial skin is usually thicker than women’s and less likely to be sensitive to the ingredients in facial cleansers and moisturizers. And since men typically don’t wear makeup, skin care is also a simpler procedure.

But shaving is another story. If you have heavy beards or curly or course hair, irritation and razor bumps can be a big problem. Most men prefer bars to liquid cleansers. That’s fine as long as you have normal or oily skin. But bar soap can tend to dry skin out more than liquid cleansers because of all the harsh chmicals used in them.

If you insist on bar soap, look for soaps with special blends of cold/expeller pressed and unrefined plant oils of Olive, Coconut, Ethically Harvested Palm Kernel, Rice Bran & Castor with Butters of Shea and Cocoal and jojoba oil, as well.

As for Liquid cleansers that contain Aloe Vera, Vitamin A, C, E and Natural Botanical Extracts to help maintain a natural moisture balance are your best choice.

Some soaps say they are laced with moisturizer, and for some they may work fine. But the best way to moisten your skin after washing it is to apply a moisturizer that is made for your skin type.

For extra dry skin, choose a cream, which is the thickest formulation.

For normal to dry skin, reach for a lotion, which is lighter and less oily.

For oily skin, choose a lighter oil free lotion or gel.

If you want to keep your skin, especially the skin on your face, as healthy and beautiful as possible, you should follow a daily Skincare program with these four steps:

•Use a simple cleanser and skip the soap: Use a gentle cleansers that has NO harsh chemicals in it. One of my favorites is L'Bri Facial Cleansers. L'Bri has 2 formulas to choose from: Deep Pore Cleanser - For Oily, Combination, and Acne prone skin and the Gentle Cleanser - For Normal, Dry, and Extra Dry Skin.

Time for the Summer Fun and Activities!!

Welcome to Summer!!

One thing I love about Michigan in the summer is the abundance of
"Green" outside. Everywhere you turn, you see Green on the trees, Green in
the Grass and Green in the garden. Michigan is such a beautiful place to see and
experience at this time. On top on the Green almost everywhere you can turn is
the Blue lakes, river and streams in which you can take a moment look at the water;
to review the times spend with the family on a fishing, boating or swimming activities
of your prior Summer Years. We are blessed to live in a state that is full of the natural
resources that you would not find as easily in other parts of the county.

Now is the time to enjoy the weather (we only have a true summer for three to four
months as almost Michiganders know)

But along with all that Summer Fun and Activities comes the pain and agony of the sunburn.

Getting burned is absolutely no fun, when you deal with that burn quickly you will likely
have a major effect in reducing the pain, discomfort, and length of time that burn will last.

Don't think you’ve got to run off to the store and buy up a lot of burn creams and first aid
supplies to deal with it. Most of these expensive creams contian harsh chemicals and can
